13th Asia Pacific Ethanol Chain Summit 2018

Time:2018-12-10 -12-12location:guangdong guangzhoushi

Since the first ethanol conference in 2005, Enmore has successfully hosted the 12 years' Ethanol Industry Chain Summit, covering all industries in the country. In the past three years, there have been more than 1,500 companies, with more than 3,000 attendees. The participants covered domestic and foreign ethanol raw material suppliers, such as cassava producers, corn, molasses, cellulose suppliers, ethanol producers, ethylamine, and acetic acid. Ester and ethylene companies; petrochemical companies, futures companies, industry institutions, associations and many other industries.

Event Highlights

1. Ethanol and biofuel topic centered; Deep analysis into " Tianjin implementation"and Chinese government attitude towards ethanol policy
2. Sino-US trade war continues to heat up, the ethanol feedstock crisis is heavy, how will China respond in the future?
3. Will coal and coke based "biofuel" meet the spring in China?

Ethanol is a renewable, domestically produced alcohol fuel made from plant material, such as corn, sugar cane, or grasses. Using ethanol can reduce oil dependence and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Nowadays, with the vigorous promotion of governments, more and more countries are promoting the use of ethanol fuel for vehicles. Ethanol-blended fuel is widely used in Brazil, the United States, and Europe.  Most cars on the road today in the U.S. can run on blends of up to 10% ethanol, and ethanol represented 10% of the U.S. gasoline fuel supply derived from domestic sources in 2011.[2] Furthermore, many cars today are flexible-fuel vehicles able to use 100% ethanol fuel.  More than 50 countries have developed biofuel support policies, including provisions for blending indicators or directives, and tax incentives for energy security strategies, sustainable agricultural development and the revitalization of the rural economy, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and mitigation of environmental pollution.

China
In late August of 2018,  the Standing Committee of the State Council decided to orderly expand the use of ethanol gasoline for vehicles in China. The meeting determined the overall layout of the biofuel ethanol industry.

The fuel ethanol industry is an important strategic emerging industry in China.

China plans to roll out the use of ethanol in gasoline nationally by 2020. It has a very positive strategic significance for replacing non-renewable energy sources such as petroleum and dealing with atmospheric smog pollution and preventing and controlling water and soil pollution. For example, in Tianjin, the environmental protection department initially estimated that after using ethanol gasoline, the city's motor vehicle exhaust emissions can reduce carbon monoxide emissions by 10% to 15% per year, reduce hydrocarbon emissions by 3% to 5%.

China is currently the world's third-largest ethanol producer, but with output of about 2.1 million tonnes a year, production is a long way behind global leaders Brazil and the United States.  The situation in China is somewhat special. Even if it is added according to E10, it still needs nearly 15 million tons of annual consumption." Fuel ethanol and grain have certain conflict. 76 percent of ethanol in China is produced from corn, with 14 percent produced from wheat, 8 percent produced from cassava, 1 percent produced from sweet sorghum, and 1 percent produced from corn cobs.

China ethanol industry also faces the pressure from the Sino-US trade war.
With the restrictions on the import of the corns and ethanol from the US, Chinese corns and ethanol traders currently are looking forward to a more suitable importing country.  Certainly, the future is still unknown for many of them.  How will China deal with the current difficulties?  Will the policy become more open for ethanol players in China? …

Thailand:

Thailand currently has a goal in place that targets the use of 9 million liters (2.38 million gallons) of ethanol per day by 2021.
Thailand is now converting some of the cassava stock held by the government into fuel ethanol. Cassava-based ethanol productions are being ramped up to help manage the agricultural outputs of both cassava and sugar cane. With its abundant biomass resources, it is believed that the fuel ethanol program will be a new means of job creation in the rural areas while enhancing the balance sheet of fuel imports.

Pakistan
Pakistan has become one of the major ethanol exporters in the world. Pakistan’s export range from 150k to 350k mts per year.
Since August of 2018, Ethanol exports fall to lowest level in eleven months.

Vietnam
Vietnam’s biofuel consumption sky rockets from 9% to 40% in a year
In Vietnam, biofuel consumption is increasing thanks to the government’s push for mass commercial usage of biofuel nationwide this year, with E5 RON 92 going from only 9% of total petrol consumption last year to an impressive 40% of total petrol consumption this year.

Brazil
The ongoing U.S.-China trade war might be a good thing for Brazil’s ethanol market.
Brazil is the world’s largest exporter of ethanol. In 2006, Brazil accounted for 52 percent of the world’s ethanol exports. It exports about one billion gallons of ethanol annually . This is about 20 percent of Brazil’s ethanol production. The U.S. is the largest importer of Brazilian ethanol. European, Caribbean and Central American countries account for most of the remaining imports.

Will China become a new market for Brazilian ethanol exporters?
Is there anything that is worthy of learning for China ethanol system?

In response to the above questions, Shanghai Enmore decided to hold “
The 13th Asia Pacific Ethanol Chain Summit 2018” in Guangzhou, China on December 10-12, 2018, We are sincerely hoping to build a broader networking and discussion platform for our distinguished guests.
