In market aspect, the capacity and output of MTBE maintained a double-digit growth in 2014. Output and quality of each device have improved. According to ICIS estimate, the total capacity of China’s MTBE will reach 12.25 million tons each year, and the output will reach 7.01 million tons each year.

In demand aspect, the apparent consumption of MTBE in China also maintained a double-digit growth in 2014 with total consumption be expected to reach 7.295 million tons on year-one-year growth of 835,000 tons, which is more than double than 2009. In 2014, the output, import volume and export volume are expected to be 7,010,000 tons, 300,000 tons and 15,000 tons.
